Two things about that table are worth saying out loud. First, the per-user fee means the bill grows every time you hire — a crew of six on Premium is $80 a month before you’ve run payroll once. Second, features like geofencing and GPS location tracking are gated behind the Elite tier: you pay $28 more a month for the privilege of monitoring where your crew is standing. If what you actually need is “who worked, when, and for how long, totaled by week with overtime flagged,” that’s not a $720-a-year problem. It’s a clock.

Open the time clock (button above) — or download the file and double-click it. No account, nothing to install. Load the sample crew first if you want to poke around.
Add your crew on the Crew tab — a name is enough; add an hourly rate if you want the CSV to compute pay.
Punch in and out on the Clock tab. Run it on the shop tablet or pass the phone around at the site. Optional job label per shift; missed punches get typed in by hand and flagged “manual.”
Check the timesheet — Monday–Sunday grid, daily totals per worker, overtime highlighted past your threshold. Flip weeks with the picker.
Export the payroll CSV every week and hand it to whoever cuts the checks — plus a JSON backup for yourself, because browser storage is only as safe as your browser.

To be fair to the paid guys: QuickBooks Time gives every worker their own phone app, syncs punches from twelve job sites at once, and drops hours straight into QuickBooks payroll. If you're running three crews across town and payroll is already in QBO, it earns its keep. But most small outfits are one crew, one clock — and they're paying per-seat prices for a shop-tablet problem.
The honest limits
It’s one device per site. No accounts and no sync means the clock lives where the file lives — the shop tablet, the office computer, or the foreman’s phone passed around at the job. That covers a lot of small crews; it doesn’t cover three crews punching from three towns.
There’s no GPS tracking — on purpose. Nobody’s location is monitored, because there’s nothing to monitor it with. We think a crew that’s trusted works better than a crew that’s tracked. If you genuinely need geofenced punches, that’s the $88-a-month tier of the paid apps — and now you know what you’re paying for.
Export weekly. Hours live in one browser on one device, so make the payroll CSV and a JSON backup part of the Friday routine. Clearing browser data clears the clock; the backup brings it all back.
It’s a time clock, not payroll software. It totals hours and flags OT past your threshold; it doesn’t file taxes, cut checks, or know your state’s daily-overtime rules. The CSV is built to hand to the person or software that does.

How does my crew clock in without accounts?
One device runs the clock — the shop tablet, the office computer, or a phone you pass around at the job site. Each worker gets a card with a big Clock In / Clock Out button. No logins, no app installs, no per-seat licenses.
Does it track my crew's location?
No, and it can't — there is no GPS, no geofencing, and no server for location data to go to. We think that's a feature: your crew punches a clock, they don't wear a tracker. If you need location verification, that's what the $88-a-month tier of the paid apps sells.
How does overtime work?
Any worker whose week passes the threshold you set (40 hours by default) gets highlighted on the timesheet and dashboard, and the payroll CSV splits their hours into regular and OT columns, with OT paid at 1.5 times their rate in the pay column. Overtime law varies by state — some states count daily OT too — so treat the flag as a planning number and confirm the rules with your payroll pro.
