How to use it
Click any dashed box and type. Add a line for each service or material. Set your tax rate if you charge one. Then hit Print / Save PDF — in the print window, choose "Save as PDF" to get a file you can text or email to your customer. The dashed borders and buttons disappear on the printed version; your customer sees a clean, professional invoice.
Common questions
Is it really free? What's the catch?
Really free. No signup, no watermark, no "3 free invoices then pay." We're PHIT Web — we build websites for service businesses, and we make free tools like this so owners find out we exist. That's the whole business model behind it.
Where does my customer's information go?
Nowhere. Everything you type stays in your browser on your device. Nothing is uploaded, which also means we couldn't see it if we wanted to. Refreshing the page clears the invoice — so print or save your PDF before closing.
What should I put on a contractor invoice?
Your business name and contact info, an invoice number and date, the customer and job address, one line per service or material, tax if you collect it, the total due, and how to pay you. Adding your license number builds trust in licensed trades.
Can I save it and come back later?
The invoice itself isn't stored — save the PDF when you're done. But if you tick "Remember my business info on this device," your business name, contact info, license number, and last invoice number are kept in your browser only — never uploaded — and the next invoice number fills in automatically on your next visit. Untick the box to erase it.
Can I make a receipt with this?
Yes — turn on the "Mark as PAID" toggle. The document header switches from INVOICE to RECEIPT, a "Paid [today's date] — thank you for your business" line appears, and the Due field is hidden — on screen and on the printed PDF. Turn the toggle off to switch back to a normal invoice.
