No fine print surprises. These are the terms of the referral program, written plainly.

Note: Every project starts with a free homepage mockup, so the business you refer risks nothing. The reward below applies when your referral approves their mockup and buys a build ($997 Starter Site or $2,495 Lead Engine).

  • The referral reward is 10% of the project fee, paid as a one-time reward per new paying client referred. If your referral takes only the free mockup and never buys, no fee applies — and that's fine.
  • Payment is made after the project is complete and the referred client has paid PHIT Web in full. Partial project completion or partial client payment does not trigger a referral payout.
  • One referral fee per unique new client. If the same business is referred by multiple people, only the first verified submission receives the fee. If you refer the same business twice, you are paid once.
  • The referred client must be a new client with no prior relationship with PHIT Web, meaning they have not previously contacted us, entered a proposal process, or engaged our services.
  • PHIT Web reserves the right to accept or decline any referred client at our sole discretion. If we choose not to pursue a referral for any reason, no referral fee is owed.
  • Referral fees are considered taxable income. You are solely responsible for reporting and paying any applicable federal, state, or local taxes on referral fees received. PHIT Web is not your employer and this program does not create an employment, contractor, or agency relationship.
  • Referral fees are non-transferable and are paid to the individual or business that submitted the referral form. We cannot redirect payment to a third party.
  • Providing false or fraudulent referral information disqualifies the referral and may result in being permanently excluded from the program.
  • PHIT Web may modify or discontinue this referral program at any time. Referrals submitted before any program change remain eligible under the terms in effect at the time of submission, provided the project is completed.

Referral fees are discretionary rewards paid at the completion of a qualifying project. PHIT Web's obligation to pay a referral fee arises only after the referred client has paid their project invoice in full. This program is available to U.S. residents only.

No. Anyone can participate in the referral program. You don't need to have a website built with us. If you know a business that needs our help, submit the referral and you're eligible for the fee.
Your referral fee is paid after two things happen: the project is complete, and the referred client pays their invoice in full. We'll reach out to confirm your preferred payment method at that time. We do not pay referral fees on partial payments or on projects that don't reach completion.
Your reward is 10% of whatever project they buy, so a Starter Site earns a smaller reward than a Lead Engine — but every completed, fully paid project qualifies. And if they only take the free mockup, you still did a fellow business owner the easiest good turn of their week.
No limit at all. Refer one business or refer twenty. Each qualifying referral that results in a completed, paid project earns you a reward. The more introductions you make, the more you earn.
If the referred business has already contacted us, received a proposal, or is already in our pipeline, the referral is not eligible for a fee. The referral program applies to genuinely new contacts only, businesses we have no prior relationship with.
Yes, we ask that you give them a heads up that we may be reaching out. It makes for a warmer introduction, and businesses that are expecting our call convert much better. A quick text saying "I gave your info to a web design company I trust" goes a long way.
Yes. Referral fees are considered income and are your responsibility to report to the IRS and any applicable state tax authority. PHIT Web does not withhold taxes from referral payments. If cumulative payments to you exceed IRS thresholds in a calendar year, we may issue a 1099 form. Consult a tax professional if you have questions.
